Carla Thursday is an Ipswich-based multi-instrumentalist who pairs her distinctive Australian lisp with joyous, piano-based alt-pop she produces in her living room. Touching on themes from childhood and dreams, Carla’s lyrics toy with the mystical and the deeply real.
Having the neurological condition Synesthesia makes her attach colours and personalities to the days of the week and see fireworks when she hears a loud noise. Due to this brain-quirk, Carla writes every song with a specific coloured, emotional theme in mind.
Carla’s catalogue of songs has been written as part of the global online community “I Heart Songwriting Club”. Through “I Heart Songwriting Club”, she has written over 30 songs, including one live on ABC Radio Brisbane in just 20 mins. Carla has also performed as a featured artist in the Spotlight Sessions and at the launch of Ipswich Unearthed.
