When Chandler started exploring the musical aspects of songwriting, he delved into melodies and rhythms to make his songs stand out. Chandler’s enthusiasm, unique sound, piano and songwriting ability will have you questioning how he could be just 15 years of age.
'I’m Original' was awarded Highly Commended in the Schools Section of the 2018 Queensland Music Awards.
Four years ago, Chandler was diagnosed with High Functioning Autism and this song is about his life and the challenges he has had, not only growing up with Autism, but the struggle of finding acceptance amongst others because of his uniqueness. As the song title says, ‘I’m Original’ and Chandler Jay wouldn’t have it any other way.
Chandler has performed at numerous festivals and events including the Brisbane Festival, Brisbane Convoy for Kids, Ekka, Buskers by the Creek, Stones Corner Festival, Einbunpin Festival and the Goodna Jacaranda Festival.
Most weekends you will find Chandler busking or performing at various venues around Brisbane. With a repertoire that covers various styles of music, audiences of all ages are amazed at his musical versatility.
